Lear mission 4 complete. takeoff 21:52Z 31/1/97, landing 02:16Z 1/2/97 leg 1: StJ to 46N 42W sondes 1-2 in route (36500ft, 37000ft) sonde 3 at 46N 42W (37000ft) leg 2: 46N 42W to 54N 40W sondes 4-6 in route (41000ft, 41000ft, 31000ft) sonde 7 at 54N 40W (31000ft) leg 3: 54N 40W to StJ sondes 8-11 in route (8-9 from 41000ft, 10-11 from 28000ft) weather in St. John's is getting worse but not unflyable. no sonde failures. all sondes were approximately equally spaced on legs. a full report with detailed drop locations and info will come Saturday morning. we actually saw some other traffic on the 3rd leg this flight... good to know ATC is doing their job! Michael Morgan went on the flight with us & is ready to take over. we will also be switching over 1 pilot before the next flight. the data is being loaded onto GTS right now. if there's any problem interpreting it this time, please let me know, and please try to be specific.
