The large deployment of facilities
for the field experiment of FASTEX has been supported (in alphabetical
order) by Environnement Canada and the Centre Météorologique
Canadien, by the European Commission under contract ENV4-CT96-0322,
by Météo-France, by the Meteorological Office and
by the National Environment Research Council of the United
Kingdom, by the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration
and the National Science Foundation of the United States of America,
by the Programme Atmosphère et Océan à Moyenne
Echelle of the Institut National des Sciences de l'Univers, Météo-France,
the Centre National d'Etudes Spatiales, the Institut Français
d'Etude de la Mer and other French institutions, by the World
Meteorological Organization. Furthermore, the national weather
