Research themes

The GMGEC research aims to improve our understanding of the global climate system.

Through process studies and improved parameterizations, we aim to improve the numerical modeling of the climate system and thus carry out research in line with the current topics of the international scientific community.

Group activities follow several broad themes, requiring researchers to interact depending on their field of expertise. These themes are as follows:

- seasonal forecast
- air quality
- climate change detection
- climate projection
- regional studies
- extreme events
