Parallel suite from February 2006

Monday 20 February 2006 par Patricia

This parallel suite is tested since February 20, 2006.

It contains the following elements (among a few others):

- 46 levels
- LREGETA + RW2TLFF
- no more stratiform precipitations in the second outer loop linear models
- Lopez microphysics scheme with 4 variables (liquid, ice, rain and snow)
- phys/dyn interface uses fluxes compatible with the Catry-Geleyn norm
- microphysical adjustment on conservative cloudy variables, after turbulence
- 2 band short wave radiation scheme from ECMWF (where it has 6 bands)
- modified sea surface albedo and emissivity for ECMWF radiation scheme
- MODIS winds in assimilation (see Patrick Moll documentation, in French)
- variational quality control
- channel 13 of AMSU-A is assimilated
- modified threshold for SSMI quality control
- NOAA18 is accepted in the code
- observation error standard deviations: AMSU-A channels 11 (0.5 K instead of 0.6), 12 (0.8 K instead of 1.2); 13 (1.2 K)
- ground-based GPS monitored
- Arpège forecasts 57, 63, 69 hours added to the production

A more complete documentation, hopefully in English, will follow.
