One of the elements of the preparations for the merge between HIRLAM and ALADIN will be to establish a common set of strategic objectives for the new ALADIN-LACE-HIRLAM consortium. A joint ALADIN/HIRLAM strategy meeting was held in Toulouse on April 26-28, 2016 from noon to noon. AROME is a MÃ©tÃ©o-France project aiming to design a NWP LAM of very high resolution (2-3 km) within 2010, "as far as possible in cooperation with ALADIN partners". The ALADIN non-hydrostatic dynamics (and the ALADIN source code) was chosen as the starting point for AROME.
